How To Change A Diaper Genie?

The Diaper Genie is an excellent invention. It's a nice-looking garbage pail. It is big enough to hold a lot of dirty diapers and does an excellent job of keeping the odors contained. Being a new parent entails responsibilities, including dealing with soiled diapers. The Diaper Genie is among the most popular diaper disposal systems.
Diaper Genie, as a garbage pail, requires a special refill. It means you must empty and replace the pail refills.

How Does The Diaper Genie Work?

The Diaper Genie Complete comes completely assembled. So you can use it right out of the box. It is ideal for busy mothers and fathers.

In addition to white, the Diaper Genie is available in grey, green, and pink.

Then, press the bottom pedal with your foot to dispose of a diaper until the lid and airtight clamps open. Allowing you to toss it in. That is it. However, there are a few additional steps to ensure that the odors are truly sealed away:

  • To increase odor protection, tuck the carbon filter into an opening on the inside of the lid. Experts strongly recommend using the filter.  There was a noticeable difference in smell.
  • Use the special bags that come with the Diaper Genie. According to the company, the bags have seven layers for additional odor protection. We used to use ordinary waste bags with our old pails, but these do a better job containing the smell. However, it should be noted that bag refills may become more expensive over time.

How To Set Up A Diaper Genie With Your Own Garbage Bags

Step 1: Open A Garbage Bag

Open a garbage bag and separate its sides. This ensures that diapers fall to the bottom of the garbage bag while in use.

Step 2: Grab The Diaper Genie Ring

Ensure that the Diaper Genie is oriented correctly. The opening should face up. And the writing on the side should be right side up. After nearly 3.5 years of using the same ring, this one is pretty deformed, but it still works.

Step 3: Cover The Mouth Of The Waste Bag Around The Refill From The Inside Out

Bundle the garbage bag's mouth and push it through the middle of the Diaper Genie refill ring, bottom up. The ring should now resemble a garbage plant growing from the top. The garbage bags in the image have flaps that make them easier to tie—they will look a little different if you use the instructions for using flat-edge garbage bags, which are the same.

Step 4: Tuck The Edges Of The Bag Under The Ring

This does not need to be perfect. Because you are using your garbage bags, it will probably be perfectly normal for the bag to bunch up beneath the ring. The Diaper Genie will continue to function normally.

It also does not need to be tucked into the gap on the underside of the ring. Simply wrapping it around the ring with about 2" (5 cm) bag on the bottom is sufficient.

Step 5: Open The Diaper Genie

To lift the lid, use the Diaper Genie pedal.

Step 6: Insert The Ring Into The Diaper Genie

Simply place it in the Diaper Genie where you would generally put the ring. You don't need to push the garbage bag past the Diaper Genie's jaws. Gravity will secure the garbage bag in the first diaper you throw in.
Again, it's fine if the garbage bag doesn't fit perfectly around the ring; once you start putting diapers in, the weight will pull down on the bag and tighten everything up. It's also okay if small parts of the ring remain exposed.

Step 7: Done!

What Makes Diaper Genie So Popular?

You are probably familiar with diaper duty if you have a newborn baby. Diaper Genie is intended to help you do the job. Millions of families have benefited from this incredible design. Here's what makes Diaper Genie so popular.

  2. You place the soiled diapers inside. And it will handle the trash on its own. That is how the auto-closing mouth works, making it easy for you to open and close the device.
  3. Diaper Genie eliminates odors and keeps your home smelling fresh.
  4. The Diaper Genie can hold up to 270 newborn diapers. Allowing you to spend more time at home with your baby rather than going out to throw diapers frequently.

How Do You Change Diaper Genie Refill?

Diaper-Genie-Change
Diaper genie refills, like diapers and wet wipes. These are disposable consumables in families with newborns. You're supposed to empty the Diaper Genie when it's full. And replace Diaper Genie bags when the old one runs out.

  1. Take out the old diaper genie refill and its plastic seal. Locate the lip label and remove the bag of approximately 18 inches. It best fits your Diaper Genie, preparing for the next use. If you forget to do that, don't worry; pack fewer diapers than usual.
  2. Push the bag through the center. And tie a tight or double knot at the end. Ensure that each inch has been ultimately used to avoid waste.
  3. Place the new refill at the top of the pail. And ensure it sticks perfectly. Otherwise, you risk running out of waste and smells.
  4. Replace the lid by pressing it down until you hear a snap.

Who Should Use The Diaper Genie?

If you have a child in diapers, consider the Diaper Genie. Amazon's best-selling diaper pail. Its design is sleek and discreet. It is available in five colors: white, gray, and green, making it appropriate for most nurseries. Furthermore, it is tall in size and has a hands-free foot pedal.

The carbon filter, clamps, and special bags provide additional odor protection, distinguishing it from other diaper pails.

The Diaper Genie provides the convenience of having a diaper pail in the nursery. But without the smell. Yes, please.

How Many Diapers Does The Diaper Genie Hold?

The company claims that the refill bags can hold 270 diapers. Of course, this does not imply that you stuff 270 diapers into the can before throwing it away.

Consider one extremely wide and long trash bag without a bottom. When you first set up the bag, tie a knot at the bottom. Once it's full of diapers, use the specific cutter inside the pail to break it off and knot the top. Then, you'll pull out the next section of the bag and tie it at the bottom, and so on.

It took about two days for our Diaper Genie to reach capacity. If you prefer to take out the trash more frequently, the unique bags may save you money because you will not waste large bags for just a few diapers. You can cut the bag to any size you want.
